Kolkata

This was my first vacation after I was located in Dhaka. I usually visit my hometown during vacation and festivals, but this time I and my roommate decided to visit some other place in India and then visit home. Finally, we choose to fly to Kolkata. However, I was planning to visit a place with the ancient historical monuments and Royal heritage, but Kolkata is also an amazing place.

I was excited about the trip and distributed the responsibilities. My responsibility was to manage travel tickets and stay. While my friend took the responsibility of the tour operator and visit the hometown. I started with the flight bookings.

Direct flight from Dhaka to Kolkata

I was looking for the cheapest Dhaka Kolkata flights and found a good deal by Biman Bangladesh. The flight was on Thursday at 9:10 in the morning and takes only 20 min to reach Kolkata. This was time-saving and we were able to utilize the entire day. The flight was well maintained by the cooperative staff.

Our Luxurious Stay at Treebo Saini Inn

I selected Treebo Saini Inn, which was among the three-star hotels in Kolkata and fits in our budget. The hotel room was well managed and contains all the necessary facilities. Although it was a bit far from the Airport but is located at the paush location.

Our Visit begins on the same day

I was ready for the visit at 12:00, since the time we reached Kolkata, I was noticing the mouth-watering stalls of sweets, tea, snacks and much more. During our visit, I enjoyed many famous sweets and street foods of Kolkata, out of which these two dishes adores me the most.

Luchi

Luchi

This is almost similar to the bhature or maida puri but the flavor is totally different. It is the main recipe during Durga pooja. We enjoyed the phulko Luchi with typical potato flavor. Unlike other maida bread, Luchi appears completely white fluffy and crispy Indian bread. I tasted it twice with different flavors, one with plain Luchi and spicy potato veg. While the other one with potato flavor known as Luchi Alur Tokri. At some places, Luchi is also served with traditional dal and tarkari flavors.

Telebhaja

This was another traditional dish blended with the flavors of Bengal. Tela bhaja is actually a deep fried snack similar to bhajiyas. It is available as the snacks stuff with vegetables and rolled in the batter. This is available with both veg and nonveg fillings. In most places, telabhaja is served with rice and black salt which makes it unique and specialized to Kolkata. There are so many shops that prepare various kinds of veg and nonveg Tele Baja and they are open 24 hours. The Tele Baja shops near Kalika College street is the famous one.

Most importantly, Kolkata flavors are incomplete without the sweet dish, hence I enjoyed Rasogulla, Sandesh, Payas and Mishti Doi. The trip was full of fun, food and good times.
